Simply tell your AI coach what you ate:

- The AI extracts calories and macros automatically — no manual entry

- Reads weight, steps, active calories, and exercise minutes from Apple Health
- Writes your logged weights and meal macros back to Apple Health
- Grant permissions on first launch, or in Settings → Apple Health

- Set an eating window — your coach tracks the countdown on Home
- After the kitchen closes, coaching tone adjusts to support you through the evening
- Turn it off anytime in Settings

Q: How do I cancel my subscription?

- Open iPhone Settings
- Tap your name at the top
- Tap "Subscriptions"
- Select "Chat to Lose Weight"
- Tap "Cancel Subscription"
Q: How do I delete my account?
A: To permanently delete your account and all associated data:
- Open the app
- Go to Settings (gear icon)
- Scroll to "Account"
- Tap "Delete Account"
- Confirm deletion

Using the App
Q: How accurate is the calorie tracking?
A: Our AI provides estimates based on common portion sizes and standard nutrition data. For best results:
- Be specific about portions ("2 cups", "palm-sized")
- Mention cooking methods ("grilled", "fried")
- Tap the logged meal card to edit items or portions if needed
Q: Can I edit meal entries after logging?
A: Yes! Tap any meal card in the chat to edit portions, calories, or items. Tap "Save" when done.
Q: The app says "Not medical advice" - what does that mean?
A: Chat to Lose Weight provides general wellness coaching and is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always consult with a healthcare provider for:
- Medical conditions or medications
- Eating disorders or disordered eating
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Significant weight loss goals
Q: Does the app work offline?
A: Limited functionality works offline:
- ✅ View logged data and chat history
- ✅ Log weight locally
- ❌ AI chat and meal logging require an internet connection
Your data syncs automatically when you reconnect.
Q: How do I use different units (kg vs lbs)?
A:
- Go to Settings
- Tap "Profile"
- Toggle "Use Metric Units" on/off
- All weights and heights will convert automatically
Troubleshooting
Q: Apple Health data isn't syncing
A:
- Open iPhone Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Chat to Lose Weight
- Enable read and write access for Weight, Active Energy, Steps, and Exercise Minutes
- Return to the app and pull to refresh the Home screen
- If issues persist, toggle the permissions off and back on
Q: The app crashes or freezes
A:
- Force close the app (swipe up from app switcher)
- Restart your iPhone
- Check for app updates in the App Store
- If issues persist, email us with your iPhone model and iOS version
